Summer Camp 2011

In January 2011, Frontier Club together with Mirrabooka Study Centre, organized the annual 2011 Summer Camp. The camp had 57 boys from Years 7 – 9 from a variety of school across Sydney and Newcastle. The camp was held at the Benedict XVI Conference Centre in Gross Vale near Richmond NSW. The camp had 15 supervisors who worked tirelessly the weeks before in order to make the camp a success.

The camp went on for 6 days. The theme was “Age of Empires” and the participants were divided into eight teams: Byzantines, Teutons, Saracens, Vikings, Celts, Britons, Franks and the Goths. The competition was close with the team rankings constantly changing during the camp. The eventual winners were the Britons followed closely by the Tuetons.

The camp wouldn’t be successful without the help of so many people.

Thank you to Mrs Dineen, Mr Rossi, Mr Chee and Elizabeth Watson who assisted us with transport.

Special thanks to Mrs Shearer who volunteered her time to cook for us. The food was awesome.

Special thanks to the supervisors: Angelo, Alex, Sam, Chris, Ben, Ed, Devin, Oli, Tim, Pete, Louie, Fr Richard, Joaquin, Antonio and Seb. These guys took time off work and study to help prepare the camp and all the games.

Thanks to all the participants for attending.
