Young Professionals
Embarking on a full-time job after study or training prompts a major change in a person’s work and social settings. The Nairana Team wants to extend support to young men in the age group of 24 - 30 years old through personal and professional mentoring together with a flexible program of activities.
Saturday Morning Activities
Fortnightly activities are offered at Nairana on the second and fourth Saturday morning of each month that include a talk of Christian formation and a morning of recollection. Informal gatherings before or after these events allow people to catch up with friends and facilitates time for mentoring.
Retreats
Spiritual retreats are offered several times each year in Bargo Conference Centre (44-46 Hambridge Road Bargo NSW 2574), typically from Friday night until Sunday afternoon. Please see the website for more information.
Community Service
Throughout the year, young professionals may participate in activities such as:
- Assist in the supervision of Frontier Club and Nairana high school programs (subject to possession of a NSW Working with Children Check)
- Visit residents of aged care facilities in the local area
- Assist frail-aged local residents with gardening and small jobs
- Volunteer with Vinnies Van: providing food and company to homeless persons in Western Sydney
